Default Endless Searching for Missing Shortcuts

What's all this searching for 'Missing Shortcuts' that PU does? The popup windows are so many and so obtrusive that I can't get anything else done.

I'm sure PU didn't use to act like this but it sure does now. The last three or four uninstalls I have set it to it has wasted all this time searching for 'missing shortcuts' according to the legend at the top left of its windows.

Why is it concerned about missing shortcuts? What have they got to do with uninstalling a prog?

I asked it to uninstall 'fax machine' and it quickly did the fax progs uninstall and moved on to its own 'cleaning up' things - and quickly got bogged down in all this missing shortcuts stuff.

I realise it may well be something wrong with my setup. Some crazy prog I've run or some virus I've got/had might have invalidated heaps of my shortcuts (these are the desktop icons, right?) especially as I had heaps of them tucked away under a folder in my desktop - because I just had too many.

Well that's a bummer for me and probably a headache but the thing is: what has it got to do with PU and the task I've set it?

And if it legitimately has something to do with PU, if PU cannot properly perform its task without doing this, then is there some way I can configure PU to do an 'imperfect uninstall' and forget about all this 'missing shortcut' stuff?

Note: I cannot even stop PU working. The popups demand servicing before I can get to PU to cancel it in the background. But fast as I go clicking 'cancel' on the popup and then leaping to 'cancel' on the background PU screen I still can't make it before another popup is there again.

It is a major bummer.

(edited add-on) It's even asking me to insert a disk in drive D !!!

I can't even find PU listed in Task Manager so's I can kill the process. What's the process?

Aaaah... I did find it. PU.exe. And killed it.

Hi,

Perfect Uninstaller once searched every icons related on the PC and try to delete it.

However, the uninstall process that Perfect Uninstaller removes the driver programs, related files, and registry entries step by step may result in the shortcut icons has been deleted already from the Program List as it scan to the My Recent Files.

Hence, Perfect Uninstaller mentions that the shortcut icon is missing and can't find it.

We have solved this program, please update your program to the newest version or download the newest version from Perfect Uninstaller - A Better and Easier Uninstaller and reinstall it.
